Art Advisor
As an art advisor, Blaise creates a bridge between her collector client and the artist, ensuring an enriching experience wherein the collector builds a legacy both authentic to herself and a sound investment (and has fun in the process).
The art world is famously murky water—making for an exciting adventure—and Blaise is her clients’ lighthouse. Collecting contemporary art is thrilling, but discerning the good from the rest can take a trained eye.
Whether working with a budding buyer or seasoned collector, we first refine our taste by exploring relevant historical and commercial contexts. Because, after all, collecting without education—informed curiosity seeking connoisseurship—is merely shopping.
Once our intentions and expectations are clear, Blaise identifies target acquisitions and negotiates sales, then appropriately maintains the collection. The art market is devoid of written rules, so Blaise ensures that her collectors are in on the unwritten rules and, as a result, enjoy a new layer of social and intellectual engagement.
Services are provided on the basis of retainer, hourly rate, and/or commission scales.
Art Dealer
Blaise represents a select stable of artists creating compelling, provocative, and tasteful work.
Evolving beyond the brick-and-mortar retail gallery model, Blaise offers work for sale directly from the artist’s studio. Works are available for private viewing appointments in the curious collector’s home, as well as at invitation-only intimate salon events. Please RSVP to our newsletter to be included.
Blaise often takes on an artist only after implanting herself in his studio for a critique to refine his process and hone his craft. She does not sell from inventory or on consignment.
Artist Consultant
For artists whose work is not yet sufficiently mature to represent as their dealer, Blaise offers behind-the-scenes consulting services. The goal is to first clean house, then present to the art world.
For the artist client, services include studio critiques to discuss the artist’s practice in the context of history and the market. Here, Blaise transposes her education and experience onto the artist to give him a window into the often intimidating and confusing art world. Blaise further acts as the artist’s unbiased sounding board—a partner to develop creatively and commercially in what is otherwise a solitary creative process.
Blaise also offers services that refine the practicalities required to survive as a working artist: branding via website building, social media management, and reviewing and prioritizing existing opportunities for exhibitions or sales.
Blaise is committed to identifying artistic talent and supporting their success, however the artist may define it for himself.
Curator + Collaborator
As a curator, Blaise selects artists creating evocative work, organizes their work around an inspired theme, and presents it in a limited-run exhibition format. Blaise products these exhibitions in pop-up spaces, whether a commercial space or salon-style private residence.
Contemporary art is inherently engaging, and is therefore the perfect hook to draw consumers to a brand. As such, Blaise produces contemporary art exhibitions in collaboration with brands looking to amplify their commercial efforts with a captivating backdrop in their own space and aligned marketing.
