WELCOME TO MY WORLD.

Where style matters, but substance reigns supreme.

I have curated evocative environments for 40 years. As a Sotheby’s contemporary art strategist, Wall Street biglaw litigator, District Court public servant, and now wife and mother. An overachiever and a dreamer. From the limestone of the Upper East Side to the cobblestone of Charleston, I cultivate a rich life to share with you.

But my world cannot be boxed into a sixty-second story or limited to a tap-to-shop link. So we’ve broken out of the iPhone-clad gilded cage. Because the most authentic way for me to speak to you—to honor myself and to hold you in esteem—is directly. To know to whom I am speaking, and that you opt-in with an open mind and heart. To be sincere, unique, intentional, inspiring. To share my resources. To engage.

And so, I offer these epistles to your inbox—mini editorials in which you will find my most authentic self. Carefully crafted, as always, but off-the-cuff. Shared warmly with you, with the hope it will be warmly received. Love letters from my life revealing the people, places and things that give spark. The “who, what and where,” but don’t forget the “why.” With a wink; that alchemy of wit, humor, insight, truth—and, yes, a shoppable edit.

No content creation. No click bait. Just me. Well, with you. Just us.

Can you feel my restlessness as a native New Yorker and my linger as a Charlestonian?

Let’s get started.

i'll begin at the beginning.

When my husband and I set out to become parents, we knew it would be a long haul. I soon found myself, despite being busy with a consuming job as a lawyer, needing an outlet to keep my mind and hands busy during those wee hours of worry. (Cosima is now the happy and healthy toddler to keep me busy!)

Starting a blog—building a website, writing content, applying for affiliate programs, cultivating a community—was a welcome distraction that kept me happily awake into the night. I knew nothing about Wordpress.org, SEO, influencer marketing, integrated software… every little step required hours of researching and watching YouTube tutorials. Like a video game where the next level would appear as soon as I achieved the prior, the opportunity for a mix of technical creativity was infinite. Plus, I had something to say.

Once my parallel Instagram community organically grew, I felt that the bite-sized world of communicating on an app was more doable—literally: doable with my thumb on a phone while holding an infant for nap time—than was breaking out the laptop to long-form write-and-update a website daily. Because if I’m going to ask you to regularly check in on a blog, it’s only fair that I regularly have something fresh waiting for you. But, I just didn’t have the time and, “is anyone listening?” starts to creep in. As for IG, I’m not myself inclined to open a potentially toxic app and passively absorb other people’s day whenever I’d like to communicate with you (I’m only human, just like you, and have to protect my peace).

And so, the newsletter format was born. Bingo! The best way for me to output the content I enjoy making (because a hobby must be enjoyable!) without having to update a website every day, insecurely wonder if you care, or let my psyche passively absorb others’ information. This way, I share sincerely, you opt-in with sincerity, and away we go—each letter a mini editorial from my world to yours. Plus, you might have noticed that here in Charleston, South Carolina it is ground zero for both professional and amateur bloggers (or, is that Dallas? or Utah?…) and I’d rather cruise in my very own lane of authenticity.

To be sure, as you can see, I do have fun over there on IG. I’m quite proud of the community I’ve built—kind, funny, and engaged women around the country who enjoy a stylish find to punctuate their significant work as a mother, wife, friend, or boss babe. Sometimes a brand or PR firm reaches out to collaborate or to invite me to a splashy event, and that is always an unexpected and small thrill to my ego (I share more on that in my letters)…

But my driving reason is “relationships and resources”—connecting with you and sharing what I know! I hope you’ll follow along.

the EDIT.

The simple act of getting dressed can be a meditation on self-respect, self-deprecation, and everything in between.

My “modern classicist” style is humbly inspired by the fresh and tasteful aesthetic of an integrated lifestyle. Think: Aerin Lauder, Marie Chantal of Greece, Sofia Coppola… those who cultivate an aligned wardrobe, decor, and way of moving through the daily experience that hews to a single polished sensibility. Confident, tasteful, and creative. As for me, I’ve happily worn the same cashmere sweaters, Cartier wrist watch, and tortoise shell eyeglasses since prep school. Today, you’ll find me in elevated essentials, tone-on-tone outfits, and sophisticated separates inspired by life in New York City as adapted to the Holy City. Uptown, in the American South.
